Vietnam’s seafood exports have shown impressive growth in early 2025. In the first two months, total export value reached approximately $1.423 billion, marking an 18.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Shrimp exports were a significant contributor, totaling $542.387 million during this period, reflecting a 30.8% growth. In February 2025 alone, shrimp export value was $231.406 million, up 33.9%.
Striped catfish exports also showed positive signs, with a total value of $253.241 million in the first two months, experiencing a slight decrease of 0.8% year-on-year. However, February 2025 saw a strong rebound, with striped catfish exports reaching $120.057 million, a 32.8% increase compared to February 2024.
Tuna exports remained stable, achieving $126.481 million in the first two months, a minor decline of 3.5% from the previous year. February 2025’s tuna export value was $59.986 million, indicating a 5.2% growth compared to February 2024.
These figures highlight a robust recovery and growth trajectory for Vietnam’s seafood export sector in early 2025.
